We would warmly recommend John Wilcox & Co. We had to sell our beloved house in St James’s Gardens, where had lived for 54 years as finally the stairs were too much for old age. Simon Lindesay-Bethune and Richard King gave us such a personal service and made the whole emotional upheaval of moving possible. Simon gave us good advice and not only managed to sell our old house speedily in a pandemic but also found us a new one as a perfect short term base in the same area of London which may well turn out to be the final solution. In addition to this, he took such trouble in the process of helping us find an alternative place to live. He advised us with negotiating the contract for the lease. He really was our guide and friend.

Richard King arranged the showing of the house most efficiently in a two week campaign and each day gave us an excellent resume of the reactions of each of the possible buyers. This was very helpful. He had the key to the house – and we didn’t have to be there. It was all very professional and easy.

Simon and Richard advised us against asking a higher price. So we didn’t get as much as we had hoped for. But then we wanted to sell the house quickly, it was the end of the summer and we were in a pandemic. They may well have been right about this. Considering the Covid situation, selling the house so swiftly was a remarkable achievement. Above all, they couldn’t have been more personal, more professional and kind.

When looking for a flat to rent I found Simon Lindesay-Bethune to offer an outstanding service. Simon is friendly, professional and knowledgeable- I could not recommend him enough. A great service from start to finish, always easy to get hold of and great communication. From a phone enquiry on Monday morning to signing tenancy agreement on Friday is pretty good!
